The A.11.C. Summer meeting opened to-day in glorious weather, there wa-s a great attendance at Ellerslie, estimated at 40,000. The tote staff were busily engaged during the day, handling £63,611, as against £54,479 on the corresponding day last year. The course was in great order and the times were fast. In the Railway Handicap Postillion fell and Dawn lost his rider in the Hurdles. The results are as follow:
