(To tih© Editor)

Sir—l think it is about time the farm hands formed a union for themaelvesi We have more cause tp strike than any other body of men. At present I have to work from 5.30 a.m., including Sunday, and we have to work when every other trade " joying a Christmas holiday, Tomorrow (Christmas Day) and on Boxing Day I work, and do not receive a. penny extra, while my mate, who went to Wellington to work, makes as much in days as I make in a week. Further, lie -K me his work is inot one sorap. harder than mime, and lie gets Saturday afternoon and Sunday off , besides: all the comforts of town life, wtyle he enjoys an existence that'is worth living—inot always on the gi ind, with no half-day holiday. It is- all "rot" ior farmers <0 say we gietpaad for wet days and for no( work. There is no such thing as "no work" on a farm or station. There ia always; an accumulation of work put asade for a wet day. I have not been off this place f<sr twelve months, and I can honestly say that I have never lost, one hour'is work, wet or dry. Several times I have done work on a Sunday and have heard no mention of .extia pay. I shall be very pleased to give my services to farm a farm labourers' union..—l am, etc., FAIB ALL ROUND.
