Ml- T. li. O'Dowd, /of Masterton, left for Auckland; yesterday, wjiere he will spend a short holiday; Sir Walter Buchanan, M.P., was 'present at the • Taratahi-CJai'teirtoii races yesterday. Mr Gordon-Lloyd, of Dannevirke, was present at the Taratalii races yesterday in the capacity of stipendiary steward.
The Hon. W. F. Massey is at present confined toi his, bed through illnessi, but was yesterday reported to be considerably better.
