UNEMPLOYED.
CONDITIONS IN GERMANY,
WORST FOR FIVE YEAR,S
BERLIN, December 25. The condition of the unemployed' in Germany is the ! worst since 1908. Socialists have stated that 1,250,000 people are unemployed. A more conservative estimate is 800,000. The demand for unemployment insurance is increasing. Herr Delbruck (Minister of Interior) states that statistical material for an Imperial system does not exist, moreover the Government is opposed to sucn a system, because to relieve the funds of Socialist trade unions would enable them to divert their own money to political channels.
