UNREST AMONGST CONSTABLES.
'Times' — 'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. (Received Deo. 22, 8 a.m.) LONDON. Dec. 21. There are signs of -unrest amongst the police. A young constable when going on duty dropped a ticket dis 1 - closing the existence of a union. , It is believed that the union has 500 members. At several stations constables declined duty until their conditions improved. • . . The authorities are smoothing over the incidents, promising full consideration of the matter.
NOT ALLOWED TO JOIN UNION
CONSTABLES TRANSFERRED

The Commissioner of Police has notified that policemen are liable to dismissal if they join a union or federation.
Three constables, supporters of the newly-formed Metropolitan Police Union, have been transferred to" other divisions.
MEETING OF THE UNION
THE SOLE OBJECT.
(Received Dec. 22,12.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 21
Hundreds of policemen, members of the new union, met in Trafalgar Square. The secretary reported that 90 per cent, of the,force was eager to join. Ex-Inspector Syme said that. the union's sole object was to get rid of corruption and tyranny.
