Mr and Mrs Leslie iuv leaving Mastertoii to-morrow for a. six weeks' Vacation at Auckland and Rotorua. Miss Bee loaves Masterton. to-day on a. six weeks' tour of the South Island. A pleasant little function took place at the residence of Mrs Hoar, W rigley Street, yesterday-afternoon, when a number of the ladies who formed the chorus of "The Geisha," recently stage! by the Masterton OperaticSociety, assembled to make a presentation to Mr* J. Archer, in recognition ot her valuable services to the society. The presentation, which was made by Miss Ilita Hoar, took the form of a handsome silver bread platter. During the afternoon a dakity tea was served, and recitations wore given by the Misses r l ownyend, Hoar and Dixon. Mm H. H. Beetham, of Brancepeth, and Mrs K. Maunsell ( r l inui-) are visitors to Wellington. Mrs Nelson, of Alfredton, is on a holiday visit to the Empire City. Mrs and Miss Meredith (Llandoff) •are visiting Wellington.
