NEW SOUTH WALES ELECTIONS (Received December 16, 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 16. A feature of Saturday's polling was tlie large increase. in votes 'in every instance in the second'as com-: pared with the first ballots. The result was a surprise', even ; to the Labourites tlTfc-nselves, the loss of such confirmed Liberal centres as Willoughby, Waverley, Saint George, and Hurstville, in view J of the position after the first ballot, being quite unexpected. . NEARLY "DRY." GLOOCESTER ELECTORATE'S CLOSE CALL. ' (Received Dec. 16, 10.10 a.m.) - SYDNEY, Dec. 16. The Gloucester electorate failed becoming "dry" by six votes only.
