IMPORTANT DECISION.
affecting BOOK-Kebpjxg . (By Ttlearaph—Prm Association.) HAMILTON, Last .Night. _ An important decision was given T>y Mv Rawson, S.M., in the Hamilton case in which King and Co. (in liquidation) sued Sanson, accountant, for the recovery of certain books 'of accounts and doeument#; or their value £'2s. It appears that the books and documents were given to* the "defendant by the plaintiff company prior, to liquidation to perform .certain work and flivo advice to the company concerning its position.. The books were duly posted and a statement of the .position drawn up. Defendant not having been paid for his services, claimed lien of the book. In giving judgment for the defendant, the Magistrate remarked that the point was a very interesting one, and it was remarkable that it had been left to the inferior court to decide.
