ST. BRIDE'S CONVENT.
ANNUAL ENTERTAINMENT - One of the most successful school entertain nents held in Masterton for some years took place in the Town Hall last evening, when the pupils of St Bride's Convent staged the melo-drama, "The Wizard of the Moor." That the youthful artists had devoted considerable time to careful and industrious training, was evidenced by the finished manner in which each carried out her part. Just at the outset a certain amount of nervousness was noticeable amongst the younger artists, but as the piece developed, they regained confidence, and gave a display of acting which would do credit to more pretensions artists. The piece went with a swing from the start, and the large audience was not slow to show its appreciation, loud applause punctuating the various stages of the play. Miss Holloway did full justice to the part of Elshie (The Wizard of the Moor) carrying through a rather difficult part with credit. Miss O'Conuell, as Hugh de Bourg, acted with confidence, giving a very good interpretation of the part. Miss Johnson, as Clanronald. Miss McKenna,'as Ellieslaw, Miss Eva Hodgins, as Duncan Groeme, and Miss Elsie Nelson, a<s Oscar Groeme, deserve special mention, the interpretation of eacli being highly successful. The remaining artists, however, all did their share towards making the entertainment the it undoubtedly was. The caste of characters was as follows :Elshie (The Wizard of the Moor), Miss Holloway; Hugh de Bourg, Miss O'Connel!; Clanronald, Miss Johnson; Ellieslaw, Mjsg McKenna; Willie Groeme, Miss Kitty Hodgins ; Duncan Groeme, Miss Eva Hodgins; Oscar Groeme, Miss Elsie Nelson; Donald Groeme, Miss Beech; Gordie Groeme, Miss D.
