PARLIAMENT.
In the Legislative Council yesterday, the Poiice Force and Rating Amendment Bills were read a second time. The Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Amendment Bill was considered in committee and read a third time, Tliq Education Amendment Bill tind Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Amendment Bill were taken through committee and reported.. The Education Reserves Amendment Bill was read a third time. In the House of Representatives committees were set-up. to confer with the Legislative Council relative to amenrment in Water Supply Amendment Bill. Municipal Corporations Bill, and Police Offences Bill. The Rangiora Drill-shed Site Vesting Bill was read a second time. A lengthy debate took place on the Temporary Employees Bill, which is designed to enable tlie Public Service Commissioners to retain in the public service certain temporary employees. The second reading of_ the Bill was ultimately carried on the voices.
