MASTERTON RACING CLUB.

MONTHLY MEETING

:'The monthly meeting of the Mastertjon Racing Club was held on Saturday afternoon, there Joeing present: Messrs D. McLachlan (chairman), J. Mocara, H. Douglas, G. H. Yates, C. J. Benr.ett, W. Cooper, H. P. Harrison, J.. Whittaker, J. lorns, F. Evans, F. Dorset, A. J. Welch, and O. C. Cooper.

An apology for absence was received from Mr C. F. Vallanc©. A letter was received 'from the Now Zealand Racing Conference, forwarding the unpaid forfeit, list; also calling attention to an error in rule "HI., part 33 of the Rules of Racing, and notifying the club that the 2£ per cent, cannot be deducted from winning mounts of jockeys, under rule V. nart 22.

The secretary of the. Wellington Racing Club wrote, stating that the ambulance waggon will be available iifi the use of the Masterton, Taratahi and Wairarapa Clubs, each club having to pav cost of carriage. Messrs J. Smith and Co., Masterton, wrote, forwarding particulars of patent extension ladder.—Referred to Ground Committee, with power to act. The treasurer reported a debit balance at bank of £129 6s lid. Accounts amounting to £ll6 19s 5d were passed for payment. The secretary tabled a statement of the club's finances, showing that when the club's sheep were sold there would be a small credit balance. This was considered very satisfactory. The Ground Committee reported that a. contract had been let for the formation off- a motuid in front of %lm grandstand. The matter of minor repairs to Ascot Lodge was left in the. bands of Mr F. Dorset and the secretary. The Ground Committee wore asked to bring down a report in reference to tho erecting of new lavatories at the course.

The programme for the autumn meeting, as drawn up by the Programme Committee, was approved.
