A meeting of ten thousand Indians at Lucknotw passed a resolution of protest against the treatment of Indians in South Africa. The sum of £I3OO was subscribed to the Passive Resistance Fund. FATAL FIGHT WITH POLICE. (Received Nov. 26, 11 a.m.) DURBAN, Nov. 25. Indians broke out of the Hawksworth estate at Esperanzia, on the South Coast. There was; a collision with the police. Three Indians fore killed and twenty wounded. FIFTY SENTENCED. STRIKE EXTENDING TO ZULULAND. (Received Nov. 26, 8.35 a.m.) CAPETOWN. Nov. 25. The-.Chief Magistrate at Maritz* burg, in sentencing fifty municipal strikers, warned the Indians that they must protest against head tax constitutionally, otherwise they would alienate all the whites. The Civil and Military Gazette states thai the despatches of Lord Gladstone (Governor-General of South Africa) dispose, of the charges of 111— -treatment of Indians, but, in view- of the agitation in* India, it must support the demand for an impartial inquiry. INDIGNATION IN INDIA,, (Received Last Night, 11.15 o'clock.) BOMBAY, Nov. 26. A statement from - h South Africa that Indians* were sjamboked at the Ballengeich mine, after stoning the manager, has renewed excitement in India.
