AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

ANNUAL MEETING OF COI'NCIL.

(By Tflraravh—Prr,** AtsoriaHon.) WELLINGTON, Wedesday. The annual meeting of tho Council of tho Now Zealand Amateur Athletio Association was held on Wednesday night. Tho balance-sheet had not been prepared, so consideration of the annual report and election of officers wast postponed until a special mooting to bo held on Monday evening, and other business was proceeded with. Thoso present were: Mr A. A. Marryatt, president (in the dhair), and Messrs W. Larin, J. H. Pollock, A. Davies, C. E. Bridgo, B. Guise, J. Cusack, and W. H. Pollock. The chairman, in referring to the visit of the American athletes, stated that there was a good deal of uncertainty as to the exact dates of the Americans' tour of tho various centres. Tho team, consisting of Temple ton, Potwer, Caughey, Eosenberger, and the manager, Colonel Sidney Peirotto, left San Francisco in the Tahiti on November 12th, are expected to arrive in Wellington on December 3rd. The tour will commence in Christchurch on December 13th, and afterwards the following dates have been arranged: Livercargill Deo. 17th, Dunedin Dec. 20th, Wellington Dec. 26th and 27th, Masterton Jan. Ist, Wanganui Jan. 3rd, Palmerston Jan. Bth (this date has -jpny i (paqdooois uooq io£ %ou land Jan. 10th, Rotorua Jan. 14th (this date has not yet been finally accepted); Hamilton Jan. 17th. The team will leave New Zealand on January 19th, and arrive in Sydney on Jairuary 23rd. Mr Marryatt stated that he did not know exactly what date the team wished to leave Australia. All that was krioiwn was that theydesired to arrive in San Francisco on, their return by the end of .March. was-ample time for all the dates in Australia to be filled in,and it was expected that there would be time for the team to visit Tasmania.
