THE TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
Tho exhibition of tho work of pupils of tho Alastertoa Technical School ha« come as u revelation to tho public. *'ovv people could have Imagined that the young people were receiving such a thorough secondary education as that which was evidenced by the exhibition. The "Technical School is an institution that is playing an important part in the industrial and commercial development of the district, and it is deserving of all the support that is given it by our local bodies. The pity of it is that the art sido of the school is not appreciated in the manner it should be. Nor are there a sufficient number of classes in tho institution. These are matters, however, to which the energetic director and board of managers are giving ttieir close attention. Tho holding of the exhibition should, in itself go a long way towards popularising the institution. What is now required to complete the educational institutions of the town k a well-equipped Agricultural Hcgh School, which would prepare the sons of farmers and others for tho -scientific treatment of the soil.
