THE COAL SUPPLY.

The most serious aspect of the strike, as it presently affects New Zealand, is the possibility of a shortage of coal for domestic, transport and municipal supplies. All other difficulties created by the mad-headed Federationists can, and will be overcome. And even the coal problem is not without solution. There is an abundance of this fuel in Japan, and it will probably be found advisable to charter Japanese colliers to bring a supply to this country. . When the seamen and miners have played their last trump card, and find they have been euchred, they will probably accept the inevitable and return to work, i.e., if the..avenues for employment should be open. In the meantime, as the Auckland Press Association agent quaintly puts it, there is every indication of the strike "bleeding to death."
