MARTON RESOLUTION.
CONFIDENCE IN DEFENCE COMMITTEE.
PALMERSTON N., Last Night. A meeting was held at Marton this evening, when the following resolutions was carried: "That this meet ing of farmers and residents of Marton wish to express their complete confidence in the Citizens Defence Committee now sitting at Wellington, and on which there are four members of the Fanners Union." At an other meeting, the following resolution was carried: "ThatI,' 1 ,' this meeting impress on the Government the dire necessity of endeavouring to.settle, the strike on terms amicable to both parties." At this meeting there was a strong element of the Laboiii party, andia resolution proposed/ by Mr Tumor, who addressed the meeting, was defeated.
