LADIES' SWIMMING CLUB.
ANNUAL REPORT.
Following is the report of the Masterton Ladies' Swimming Club, to be presented at the annual meeting of the club, to be held in the -Dominion Hall on Monday, 17th November, at 4 p.m.:—Your committee congratulate members on the most successful wear the Club lias had since its inception. The position as disclosed by the balance sheet is very satisfactory. We commenced the season with a credit balance of £5 -Is sd, and finish up with a balance of £7 10s 7d, after allowing for a bonus to the custodian of the 'baths, of 10s. The carnival, \ which was held in February, was. a I great success, both financially and otherwise. Competitors from all parte of the Dominion entered, and there was a marked improvement in the stylo of .swimming cf the competitors. Our club was represented by Misses Annie and Ella O'Leary, and Miss E.smii Petheriek, at the championship meeting, held in Wanganui, akl Miss Annie O'Leary was again successful in winning the 100 yards N.i}. championship, and Miss Ella, O'Leary was eecond in the 100 yards inter-club handicap. Our club now holds the leading position amongst the ladies' swimming clubs in the Dominion. Ladies' swimming clubs have been formed at Eketahuna and Grey town, which should help to make competition keener. The thanks of the club are due to the various donors of trophies and 'to all those gentlemen who assisted in making the carnival the success it"wa,s.
