SEVERAL PERSONS SENT TO GAOL.

WELLINGTON, Last Night. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, Robert Hill was charged with assaultiii" a constable in Taranaki Street on November 4th, by hitting linn with a bottle while lie was arresting another man. Hill was sent to gaol for 14 days William Sellars Johnson was charged with assaulting Sergeant Dew by throwing an iron bar at Jnm. The bar missed its mark by inches. John sou was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. Archibald Campbell was charged with having taken part in a not in Taranaki Street on November 4th, and also with being a rogue and a vagabond, armed at night with felonious intent.
