A wanton outrage Was ip&rpetraterF in Maeterton at; isome hour dmrhisp Monday night. . The three large plate-glass winders in. the establish- . ment of Mr G. Hyde, furniture deal* er, were destroyed 'through some ma* • licious person having scratched a , most ,objectionable word upon them with a diamond- The loss to Mi* Hyde will be very considerable, as it will he necess4ry for him to remove the widows. The matter has, we. understand, been reported to the police, and hopes- are entertained that the perpetrator of the outrage .will be i run to earth, and awarded the punishment that his dastardly .conduct deserves.
