A DASTARDLY OUTRAGE.
The despicable coward who has wantonly destroyed the plate-glass windows of a Masterton business establishment by scratching insulting words upon them with a/ diamond, is a disgrace to humanity. He is not lit to occupy a place in a respectable community. He is a blackguard as well as a criminal. If malicious acts of destruction of property are to bo practised in this town, it will be the duty of citizens to form & viligance committee to co-operate with the police in bringing to justice the perpetrators of diabolical outrages. If the sabotage advocated by certain agitators in Wellington is to extend to the country districts, woe betide the perpetrators should their identity be revealed. Anything in the form of destruction of property must be repressed at all costs, even it bo necessary to swear in p, number of ■special constables to assist in performing the duty.
