FURTHER ARRESTS.
MEETING OF TRAMWAY UNION
MASS MEETING TO-DAY. ;
WELLINGTON, Last Night.
John Patrick Hassett was arrested on Saturday night on a charge of participating in a riot in Taranaki Street on Monday night last, and attempting to murder Commissioner Cullen. He was flourishing a revolver and firing shots during the disturbance; Hassett is further to bo charged with an assault committed on Saturday night. John Love was also arrested on » charge of using obscene language on.; Saturday while the special constn bleswere going through Tory Street, and Richard Jones was arrested at the same* timo on a charge of threatening behaviour.
A ireetinp: of tm- 'Tramway Union was hold' to-day. Ihe result has not been divulged, but it is believed [ft decision was reached to take a ballot whether the men should come out or not. A mass meeting is convened by the Labour Federation for to-morrow to cotosider the calling mi of all trades.
