AMUSEMENTS.
TOWN HALL PICTURES. "TEST OF FRIENDSHIP." The "Test of Friendship" programme at tho Masterton Tdwn Hall drew a good house again last evening, when the fine series of films were accorded a big reception. The feature oi the programme was "The Test of Friendship," and magnificent Vitagraph masterpiece, which fairly captivated the audience. Bllaline Terriss and Seymour Hicks, in vaudeville, proved a favourite number, the famous artists being seen to great advantage. "The Golden Wedding" is a beautiful dramatic production, in which an old couple, having been married for fifty years, see through a vision their whole past life. It is a beautifully conceived story, and must please all who witness it. The ferry boat "Wahine," provides much that is of deep local interest, being one of the most up-to-date vessels m New Zealand waters. The remaining films have been carefully selected and make up. a first-class programme, which should he seen by all. THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURE!. A GOOD SPECIAL. Another good audience witnessed the screening of the current change last evening when the military special "No Finer Death" again proved a success. "The Cloak of Guilt," a Italem production, showed a girl s failure in. an attempt to incriminate a maid. "The Faith of a Girl" (I/übin) was a very pathetic item, which showed how a woman waited whole-hearted for her husband's release from prison, even though temptations were offered her. A very pretty drama was shown in "The Village Blacksmith," and tho accompanying verse was much, appreciated. ■Other dramas were "A Fight for Right" and ."Heart Brokers." "Other pictures were the Eclair Journal, "The Mind Cure," "Toothache," and : "Diddums and the Bos Trick." A pretty comedy drama with a good moral was shown in the Selig production, "The, Tattle Battle." Two little tots have a babyish quarrel in a sandpile, and they toddle home to tell their mammas. These worthy women send children a little older to correct the matter, and they in turn get the mothers and fathers involved. Then the neighbours tide sides, and finally the police are called to suppress «• riot. The blue coats cannot arbitrate, so the fire department is l called in. They /throw cold water on the hot-heads. /Next day a.w;iso old magistrate reacls them a "lecture. Finally they all make up; and the juvenile disputes are happily adjusted. This programme will bo screened for the last time to-night.
