It is announced to-night that ,no attempt will be made to work the ships by free labour before Monday. ; . A party of about 200 mounted men has just (11.30 -p.m.) passed through the city in the direotion of the Alexandra barracks. They appear td be the Waira-rapa special police, .having apparently come in by way of Tinakori Road.
