TRIAL FOR MANSLAUGHTER.

CAUDLE FOUND GUILTY.

(Received October 22, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, October 21.

At the trial at Carlisle of Caudle, the driver of the second train in the recent disastrous collision at" Aisgill, Yorkshire, on a charge,of the manslaughter of Sir Arthur Douglas, Caudle re-admitted his megleot of the signals. Questioned' regarding the effect of this he broke down and wept, and sat grief-etricken during the remainder of the proceedings. The jury returned a verdict of guilty, with a strong recommendation to mercy on account of accused's onerous duties and difficulties. Sentence was deferred.
