ANNUAL MEETINTF.

Our Own Correspondent. CARTERTON, Last Night, The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Brick, Tile and Drainpipe Co., Ltd., was held at Carterton this morning ,there being a fair attendance of shareholders. Mr J. A. Dudson, chairman of directors, "presided. 'The fourteenth annual report and balance-sheet was taken as read (having been previously published in these columns). / In moving its adoption, the chairman congratulated the shareholders upon tlie" result of the year's opera-\ tions , which was largely due to the increased demand for the company's goods, and the better prices ruling. An increase in trade was represented by £758, and the prospects for the coming year were bright. To enable the company to cope, with the increased trade it was proposed to er- i ect a new pipe kiln at a cost of £450, using one of the old brick kilns up \ in the construction of same. It was also proposed to erect a drying shed! over it, and the new additions would give the company power to handle £IOOO more goods. . Additional time saving machinery had h&m installed

Mr P. Feist seconded the adoption of the report, congratulating the shareholders upon the year's operations, and paying a compliment, to the work of the directorate.

Several of the shareholders present asked questions concerning the working of the company's business, and all were fully explained by the chairman.

Messrs T, G. Underhill and A. H. Krahagen were re-elected directors, and. Mr L. H. Smart auditor. In accordance with notice of motion Mr Dndson moved: "That the articles of the association be amended by substituting the second Tuesday in November for the third Tuesday' in October as the d'ate of the annual meeting of members."—Seconded hy Mr W. Tucker and carried. Votes of thanks were accorded, the directors, staff, manager and secretary for their services during the past year, and the usual compliment to the chair concluded the business.
