SOLWAY STOCK SALE.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly sale at Solway on Wednesday, 15th inst., when there was only a small attendance of buyers, and a fair yarding of sheep, which we report a total clearance of under the hammer. The following prices were realised: forward empty ewes .17s 3d, fat and forward ewes 20s, 20s 6d to 21e. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: At Solway yesterday we had only a fair entry of sheep and cattle, which we submitted to th© usual attendance of buyers. Competition was rather better than at the previous sale, and we made a good clearance at the following rates: Forward ewes 15s 6d to 17s 6d, halfbred forward ewes 17s, backward ewes 12s, store cows £3 9s, yearling heifer calves 355.

Messrs and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: A good entry of prime bullocks and extra prime sheep came forward, and sold readily at late rates. Frime heavy bullocks made £l2 7s 6d to £l2 12s 6d, lighter do. £ll 12s 6d to £ll 17s 6d, light do. £ll, prime heavy wethers 29s lOd to 30s 9d, prime .wethers'2Bs.6d to 295, prime shorn wethers 21s 2d, extra, prime heavy ewes 29s sd, 30s 7d to 31s 3d, prime ewes 26s 7d to 2&s 2d, prime lamb 17s 2d to 18s Id, good lamb 16s 9d to 16s lOd.
