BOXING.
TO-NIGHT'S TOURNAMENT
The excellent bill-of-fare to be submitted by the Masterton Boxing Association at to-night's tournament should draw a record crowd to the Town Hall, since it is seldom so much interest has hitherto been aroused amongst Wairarapa .sportsmen. The order of events will be as follows: — No. 1, 4-romd welter-weight contest, L. Mexted (Masterton) v. F. Ritchie (Tenui); No. 2, 4-round bantamweight contest, W. Oliver (Taranaki champion) v. H. Prechner (ex-cham-pion of South Africa); No. 3, 4-round light-weight contest, O. Olsen (Masterton) v. P. Reid (Carterton). Interval. No. 4, Fifteen round professional contest between Denny Murphy (champion of New Zealand) and Pitto Chapman (United States of America), for a purse of £SO and the welterweight championship of New Zealand. Seats may be booked up to 12 o'clock (noon) at the offices of the London and Continental Piano Coy. (next Age office). Doors open 7.30 p.m. First contest at 8 o'clock sharp.
