DISPUTE OVER CHILDREN. MOTHER-IN-LAW MURDERED. (Received Last Night, 9.45 o'clock.) SYDNEY, October 14. Brown's wife, with two children, returned to her mother. Brown followed, and a dispute occurred over the children. Mrs Brown sent for a constable, but before his arrival Brown had shot his mother-in-law dead and fired two shots at his escaping wife, both passing through her blouse without injuring her. Brown bolted for the bush, twenty shots being exchanged, one piercing the constable's helmet before Brown was ehot dead.
■, A named Brown shot his mother-in-law dead, and when Constable Clarke, who was sent to arrest him, was approaching the housed Brown fired several harmless shots at him; Clarke replied, wounding Brown fatally. Brown was an exblack iracker ' Constable Clarke, finding, his revolver out-ranged, procured a rifle.
