At Feltham, the Suffragettes Mary, Richardson and Rachael Pearce, looking pale and haggard owing to their hunger-strike, were, committed for trial. Richardson declared that no one could compel her to serve any sentence. There were hysterical scenes at Bow Baths, women screaming for protection, while others buried chairs at the police, and dropped benches on their heads from the gallery. ' The fight lasted a considerable time, and police reinforcements were needed to control the situation. / Miss Sylvia Pankhurst wa<£ arrested and placed in a taxi.
