GREAT STORM.
WIPES OUT A TOWN. (Received Last Night, 10.5 o'clock.) NEW YORK, Oct. 7. The town of, Nome, in Alaska, was largely wiped out by a great storm. Tremendous seas broke over the waterfront. Vessels have been sent to bring off those inhabitants desirous of leaving. BUSINESS SECTION DESTROYED, (Received Last Night, 10.5 o'clock.) NEW YORK, Oct. 6. The sea at Nome swept a number of houses on the waterfront into the sea. During the storm, a fire broke out, and destroyed the whole business section of the town.
