On the front pago, an advertise-

ment draws attentiou to the fact that next year a school for girls and young children is to be started in connection with S. Matthew's parish. Miss E. M, M. Whitehead, M.A., honours, University of New Tias been appointed principal. The committee have decided to make the school as efficient as possible, the standard to be that of matriculation. There will be a lower division for both boys and girls, in which kindergarten methods will be used for. the little ones, - The committee in appointing the staff to assist Miss Whitehead, «nd in making arrangements for conducting the school, would be greatly assisted if they had some idea 'of the number and ages of the children who are likely to attend. 'Parents are therefore asked' to communicate at once ( with the Vicar or -the hon. secretary (Mr W. Nop&V, Trust Buildings J who will give any information desired. "The school will be opened daily with prayers, followed by religious instruction, under the immediate supervision and control of the clergy of tbe parish. 'Children may be exempted from ireligious instruction if their parents so desire.
