During the early hours of this morning the premises of Mr Baillie (bootmaker) and Mr Hill (confectioner) were burglarised, an entrance being gained through a back window. The glass was cut out near the catch, and afterwards replaced. The stocks of both places were ransacked, and from present appearances two pairs of boots are missing from Mr Baillie'e. No one sleeps in Mr Baillie's premises, but the Hills were sleeping upstairs, and did not hear the intruder. The. police, were and during the day arrested a man. named Frederick Hunter, who was brought before the Court .and remanded till Tuesday next on a charge of the alleged breaking and entering at Hill's.
