ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

William Thomas Ford, eight years of age., a, son of "George Feud, a farmer near Rangataua. Lakes,, was killed on Saturday. The father was felling a small tree, and deceased and a younger brother came near just as tho tree was falling. The father called to them to run. They both ran a different way, the deceased going under tho falling tree, and being instantlv killed. ' AUCKLAND, Last Night. Tho body of an unknown man, about ■>") years of age, was found on tho beach at Orakei. NAPIER, Last Night. John Card well, employed on a trawler, .was found drowned in the harbour. It is believed that ho slipped when going aboard. WAXGANUT. Last Night.
At the inquest hold this morning on the body of Hugh O'Donneli, found in the river, after having been missing for a week, a verdict of found drowned was returned. Thero was no evidence to show that death was other than accidental.
