A BLUE BOOK ISSUED. AN OFFICER'S RASH ACT. (Received Last Ni'ight, 6.50 o'clock.) LONDON, October 2. A Blue Book that has just been issued dealing with the Somaliland disaster, shows that Mr Lewis Harcourt, Secretary for the Colonies, disapproved of the splitting-up of the Camel Corps or- the extension of the sphere of operations. Lieut.Colouel Archer, the Acting-Commis-sioner, testified to Major Corfield's bravery and energy, but reluctantly charged him with a rash act, involving the protectors of the Government in a severe set-back. Mr Harcourt, commenting on the evidence, states that the disaster was due to Major Corfield's complete disregard of instructions. V Lieut.-Colonel Archer has been gazetted a Companion of St. Michael and St. George, in recognition of his work with the relief expedition.
