A BLERIOT MONOPLANE.
The aeroplane "Britannia"' wMcht was. recently presented to the New Zealand Government by the Imperial Air Fleet Committee, reached - Wellington by the Alhenic yesterday. ' B'efiore it left theiOld Country, the machine; waw flown from Dover to Cologne. It is, therefore, in perfect ofrder., The Auckland Exhibition people are endeavouring to induce the Government to place the aeroplane at the disposal of the Exhibition Committee. There can be no serious objection to .that, provided itr is placed in the hand's of nn expert. If such'" an expert were immediately available, jve would' suggest that the machine be ex&ioiibed' at the Carterton, Palmerston, and other shows in the North Island on its way to Auckland. be a great attraction to these gatherings, 1 and would be an education to the people. The air fleet is going to play an important part in the defence system of the future.
