-WAIRARAP& PENTRE.; V The annual meeting of the -Woira* rapa Bowling > Centre was held ftfc Carterton on' Thursday evening. Delegates from the Masterton," Greytown and Carterton clubs were present, and Mr J. C. Ewington was voted-to ihe chair. The following officers were elected: President, Mr 0. Pragnell (Masterton; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Phillpotts (Carterton). It was decided to hold a centre tournament at Masterton on January let and 2nd, 1914, and all arrangements in connection therewith were -left in the hands of delegates. • :ff^" On account of "tEe Centre not having received" word from the Eketahuna and Pahiatua clubs as to whether they would take part in the Shield and Booth Cup competitions, it was decided to hold over the drawing of the fixtures for these.events until a later date. It was decided that when the clubs mentioned had notified the-Centre of their intention the delegates of the Carterton and Grey town Clubs draw up the fixtures. It was also decided to arrange, if possible, centre matches with Wellington, Manawatu and Hawke'fl Bay. - Correspondence was received from the Northern Bowling Association, stating that' the next championship tournament would be held at Dunedin, commencing on January 12th next v and would be continued' for two weefs. The first week of the tournament would be devoted to rink matches, and the,second week to. singles and / doubles matches. The association Also stated that the next 'take place again." at Auckland on account of the exhibition being held in the northerii city. ; Tie tournament would ,W: held late in February, at a date' toy be fixed. l Other routine Business" was transacted. ••'•;'
