Mrs and Miss ,Mace, of Brammerton, are spending a few days in Wellington,
Mrs Thompson and Miss Strang, of the Wairarapa, have been staying at the Occidental Hotel in Wellington.
Mrs C. R. Bidwill, of Featherston, returned yesterday from a visit to Wellington.
Miss 0. W. Walters, of Carterton, is at present on a visit to Wellington.
Mrs Rayner, of Cornwall Street, Masterton, left yesterday on a visit to Mends at Halcombe ,
The friends of Mrs F. C. Lewis, of Masterton, who underwent an operation in a private hospital at Masterton yesterday, will be pleased to hear that she is progressing satisfactorily.
A most enjoyable afternoon tea was given by Mrs Gawith to Mrs H. O. Robinson on Friday afternoon. The reception rooms were beautifully decorated,'. one with pink flowers and the cither with yellow, and the diningroom, v where the afternoon tea was served, was done with quince blossom and forget-me-nots Mrs Gawith was wearing black silk veiled in ninon. Mrs Robinson brown costume and brown hat with small flowers; Mrs Skeet, shot-gold and blue silk frock; . Miss Gawith, heliotrope embroidered frock; Mrs W. Beetham, navy blue, voile hat to match; Mrs Payton, black silk, black bonnet; Mrs H. Williams, black and white, black and white picture hat; Mrs W. H. Hosking, grey costume, grey hat; Dr Helen Cowie, cream costume, cream and black hat; Mrs Cook, cream serge costume, white fairs, grey hat, trim- ' med with pink satin flowers and green feather; Mrs Hand-Newton, navy blue costume, white hat; Mrs Wolters (Carterton) ,brown costume, brown hat with plumes; Mrs Cormack (Carterton), black and white; Mi's WardeH, grey dress and hat to match. Others present were Mrs Graham, Mrs 0. Smith, Mrs Ewart, Mrs Trapp (Carterton), Mrs Donald, Mrs Baird, Mrs V. Donald, Mrs Beard, Mrs 0. Bunny, Mrs'Clienriells, Mrs J. Caselberg, Mrs A. Beetham, Mrs Boddington, Mrs J. D. Cameron, Mrs Thompson, Mrs E. Payton, Mrs H. M. Boddington, Mrs A. Bunny, Mrs Waddington, Mrs Hubbard, Mm Hirschberg, Mrs! W. P. James, Mrs Logan, Mis N. James, Mrs Foley, Mrs. Damn, Mrs Dyer, Mrs Collie,Miss Macara, Miss Burden, Miss Vallance, Miss .Maunsell, Miss Wolff, Miss Perry, Miss Baird, Miss Summere! 1 and many others. The guests were kept amtfced by a competition, the prizewinner being Mrs E. Payton.
A ' wedding was celebrated in St. Peter's Church, Pahiatua, on Wednesday, when a well-known and popular couple, Mr John T. (Tom) Paget, second ison of Mrs W. H. Paget, of Pahiatua, and Miss Winifred E. Hathaway, eldest daughter of Mr B. JBathaway, also of Pahiatua, were; united in matrimony. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a very handsome 'dress..of-satin charmeuse, trimmed with rich guipure lace. She wore the usual veil and orange blossoms, and carried'a bouquet composed of clematis and maiden hair fern. There were two bridesmaids, Miss Ada Hathaway, sister,, of the bride, and Miss May Paget, j sister of the bridegrooin,' Each wore a dress of grey velvet trimmed with wreaths of blue flowers. They also wore gold brooches presented by the bridegroom, and carried bciuquets of narcissi and ferns. Mr G. Paget acted/as best man, and Mr Frank Hathaway attended as groomsman. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Cecil Smith.
