NORTH WAIRARAPA MEETING. WALDEN WINS~THE CHAMPIONSHIP. [" The sixth annual meeting o£ the J North Wairarapa Rifle Association [7 was concluded yesterday. The jrea- \ ther was on a, par with that of the ' first day, the wind veering from five ■" to twelve degrees right. The shoot- ," ing was good, and in several matches j good contests resulted., R. J. Smith registered a possible * at 500 yards, putting on ten consecutive bulls. He thus wins Mr 3. B. j Sutherland's trophy for the best possible at the meeting. The trophy is . a fine silver cup. Smith also wins Mr , R. Barrel's trophy tor the competii tor making the highest aggregate . over all matches (handicap included). - This trophy is a fine , twelve-pointer . stag's head shot by the .donor in the .' Te Wharau district. . ■ % t s The Championship Grand Aggre- - gate was responsible for an exciting - 5 contest, JN. Walden (Kaitawa) and L. - Loveday (Woodville) registering equal ' -scores. A shoot-off was decided upon, , five shots at 600 yards, and the Kaii 'tawa man won by two points. . ' The association's secretary (Mr EL ' i C.
