A RED TAPE COMEDY.
A "red tape" comedy ha« been enacted at Leipzig, where the Zeppelin passenger airship Sachsen is stationed (says a correspondent of the Daily Mail). Dr Eckener, Count Zeppelin's right-hand man, who has made over 450 aerial voyages, was about to steer the Sachsen on a trip, when the police prohibited the voyage because he could not produce an official pilot's certificate. The incident is the more amusing because Dr Eckener is one of the three men in Germany who are able to grant airship pilot's certificates. Me c»«ld havo made one out for himself •* the spot, but preferred to telegrapk to the Berlin officials. They telegraphed in reply that he had a certificate. The police refused to accept this evidence, as "a telegram is not a document."
