town HALL pictures. •'OLIVER TWIST." There was a big attendance at last night'a display of pictures m the Town Hall, when a splendid programmo was submitted. Dickens' groat work "Ohver TwisV occupied pride of place, and this world famous »tory made a fine moving picture adaptation. The many episodes of deep human interest were depicted in a magnificent manner, and & film to be one of the best provGd i.w - n 'n Vn Hall. "For yot screened at the liOvo is Life"' is a FattlC drama of more than ordinary inte* v > being a work of high artistic quality. ■ This is the lovo story of a sculptor named Jean, who is in love with Gabrielle. Jean's parents have arranged that he marry Marie Claire, without his consent, and numerous difficulties arise between Jean and his parents, because ho cannot marry the girl he loves. Jean finds it very hard to be affectionate to Marie (his parentschoice), but when she learns the truth she gives him back his freedom. Jean goes back to Paris with his mother, and after pleading with Gabriello for his forgivenness, she consents to marry him. There are also a number of excellent films, including Warwick Chronicle (topical), "Celery Industry" (Kalem company), and the programme concludes with two screaming comedies in "Bloomer s Adventures" (Cines), and "A Bear Escape" (Keystone). This fine programme shouldn't be missed by those in search of an excellent, evening's entertainment.
