SAWMILLERS.
CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. A conference of representatives of the New Zealand Sawmillers Associations met to-day, Mr W. G. Haybittle, of the Rangit'ikei Sawmillers' Association, presiding. Among other tilings, the conference discussed housing accommodation, regulations and conditions of employment as affecting engine-drivers, income tax, State sawmills, and preference to unionists. No particulars were given out as to the proceedings, but a deputation will wait on the Premier on Sataturday to place before him representations arising out of the conference, which it was decided to make an annual event.
