MINING NEWS.

SUCCESS GOLD DREDGING CO., LTD. Reporting under date September 14th, the dredgem aster of the Success dredge says :—"I beg to report a poor run of 109 hours for a return of SOozs 7dwts. ' Half the week was put in on the south end corner section of the cut, when it was found necessary to take out the lower tumbler and put in our spare one. The dredge was shifted out for this purpose to the centre of the cut, and the balance of the week put in there. The ground remains similar to what it has been for setae weeks past owing to the loss of time with the lower tumbler and buried timber, in which fully two shifts were lost, the same quantity of ground was not treated, hence the reduced return. Apart from the lost time with the tumbler and the lost time handling the timber, the dredge is running well." ,
