Mr J. B. >; ■ , McKenzie, who was the presiding director and responsible for the ar? rangemente, is to be congratulated ' on securing such an excellent array of artistic talent. The first part of the programme was devoted to the portrayal of Charles Dance's comedy, "Delicate Ground." The.-piece was excellently produoed, and was greatly enjoyed. Miss A. Townsend, as Pauline Sangfroid, was quite in her element, and interpreted her part very well. Mr A. L. Tressider, in the role of Citizen Sangfroid, made quite a.hit, and! ,£wis very ably supported by Mr O. Gallie,, as Alphonse de Grandier. / . The audience was highly delighted with the presentation of the piece. The Pipe Band were in evidence in the second part, and their playing .was greatly appreciated. A feature of the entertainment was the dancing of a band «f children, taking the nature of a national tSbleaux. The Highland reel, by the four Pauling children, was one of the best items of the evening, the juveniles proving adepts in the art of Highland! dancing. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne" terminated a most enjoyable even- , ing's entertainment. The programme was as follows : Part 1: "Delicate Ground." Citizen Sangfroid, Mr A. L.
