COMPULSORY SERVICE.
From; a .special "Sydney Sun" cable appearing in our columns this mornat will be noticed that the Provincial Press of Great Britain is being floeded with extravagant misrepresentations concerning the system of compulsory military servioe in operation in. Australia, and.presumably in New Zealand. We need not look far for the authors of these atrocious libels. They are a mere handful of Socialistic registers without stake or responsibility in the country. Unhappily, there if a section of the British community' w-hioh seizes upon these reckless .statements to bolster up the political agitation against compulsory training. It is surprising that reputable journals in "the Old Country wilt' give their space to the contributions of those who speak without the slightest sense of responsibility, and with absolutely no authority.
