THE STONEWALL.
After a, display of political buffoonery which is without parallel in the{his>tory otf the Dominion, the Opposition yesterday hacked down and consented, to the i Estimates being , proceeded with; The reason advanced fdr; the stonewall, i.e., that the 'Government had refused to supply departmental reports,; was altogether too thin. The Government furnished the reports as quicßy' as the Printing Office could turn them out, and when they were provided; the Opposition was nb better off than before. The Opposition has been asking the Government to perform a task which it resolutely refused to perform itself when in power, and by doing so it has made itself ridiculous in the eyes of the public. The incidents of the last few days have shown the weakness as well as the strength of the Opposition. They have shown that the sertWfe busiriejft of the country may be obstructed for no other reason than to permit disappointed and disgruntled make-be-lieves to bring themselves into temporary prominence. The electors will not fofgfetthe ajtocking waste of time and money been occasioned by this sifiy-demonstration.
