At the sitting, of the Supreme Court to-day, Walter Shaw, solicitor, pleaded guilty to ten charges of abuse of trust moneys. The • total amount involved was £6700. He al6o pleaded guilty to one. charge of false pretences. ; He was sentenced to three years' hard labour, lit: was stated that Shaw's total liabilities i amount to about £50,000. His assets have not been fully ascertained,, but they will probahly equal between 2s 6d and 5s in the £. "
