POULTRY ASSOCIATION.
From the enthusiasm displayed at the preliminary meeting held in Master'ton last night, it is safe to n><"' that a Poultry, Pigeor. and Canary Association worthy of the district will be brought into existence. That there is room for such an Association is unquestionable. Years ago we had a Poultry Association that did much to cultivate a. love for the feathered race and an interest in the development of an.industry that will yet assume great proportions in the Dominion. That this Association should have been allowed to languish was a matter for very sincers regret. However, out of the ashes there may arise, Phoenix-like, an institution that will profit by the experience of its predecessor, and that will establish itself so firmly that its permanency will be assured. Tlio enthusiasm displayed in most of our local institutions of late has been a matter for satisfaction. The Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Association will immediately**commend itself to the public, and will, we feel sure, receive that hearty support to which, by reason of its name alone, it is entitled.
