Styrax (a winner a Marton) and Yankee Doodle have recent form, to recommend them. Grit lawless fell at Marton when jin a prominent position, and may [ make amends in the_ Hack Steeples. | Diavolo ran well at the National meeting, and with the light scale of weight should keep the opposition busy in the Otanga Handicap. Lady Georgia may also run well. The day's racing concludes with the Hack Welter, in which an even lot are engaged. Styrax, if reserved for this event, should run well. Conssiska and Top Note are the only Masterton horses engaged at the meeting, Alecto and Piermoht having been withdrawn. The first- ' mentionel is expected to run well in the Umataroa Hack, seven furlongs.
