The funeral of Nolan, a civilian, killed on Saturday during the rioting, was the occasion of a remarkable demonstration in Dublin. The funeral cortege was two miles long. The mourners, numbering ,many thousands, tramped five miles to Glia&r "&evin Cemetery, where fifty thousan4 people had assembled. , > TTie crowd along the route was excited and nervous. At one spot the cry "Police!" was raised. Hundreds of shrieking women, many carrying babies, rushed into th? shops and hotels, the procession being nearly deserted, except for a few pallbearers, until the pipers at the. head of the procession restored calmness by re-, suming the playing of a dirge.
