Price of French has advanced 2s to 4s per cwt. .. Cheese. —The market -is firm. There is no change in the prices for Canadian, but New Zealand: has, advanced Is per cwt. There are-some offers for finest' cheese: for delivery in* equal quantities from:'. December, 1913, to June; 1914, inclusive, at 66s per cwt; landed terms. ' , !■.....; Hemp.—The Manila market is depressed, as second-hand speculators are selling. At the close the market was somewhat steadier. Spot hemp has been fairly steady at £3l to £32 per ton;. October to December, £3O; January to March, £3O 10s. The market for New Zealand hemp is quiet; prices are slightly weaker. New Zealand good fair grade; per ton, £3O (nominal); fair, £26 iOs; August to October: Good fair. £3O 15s; fair, £26 15s. The output from Manila for the week was 23,000 bales. Wool.—The market is quiet. Coarse crossbredsi all grades, are very'firm. Merino prices are easier. Sixty's merinos 2fd per lb. It is reported that the inclusion of free wool in the United States new tariff is practically assured. With the Balkan affairs clearing, prospects are favourable for next month's sales.

Cocksfoot Seed.—The market is quiet. New Zealand seed offered at 495, but buyers are holding back. The Danish crops are .reported to be good, and".;the' seed is considered cheaper at 465.
